ANDREA_FAZZARIAndrea Fazzari is a Tokyo based international photographer, author, writer, and dining consultant specializing in travel and the culinary world. She is the author, photographer, and co-designer of her book TOKYO NEW WAVE: 31 Chefs Defining Japan’s Next Generation (TenSpeed Press / Penguin Random House), released worldwide on March 13. It is available at your local bookstore, on Amazon or tokyonewwave.com. This unique 304 page book is Andrea’s painterly love letter to Japan and its distinct philosophy and approach to food. It includes 31 essays, her interviews, 435 of her photographs. Andrea is an insider in the city’s food scene, and works regularly with Tokyo’s many influential and respected chefs. Andrea is the photographer and stylist of L’APERITIVO published by Rizzoli and shot entirely on location in Italy. She is Starwood Hotel Group’s first Luxury Collection Global Explorer; her photographs, audio narrations, and journal entries on six continents are featured in the Luxury Collection travel guides published by ASSOULINE. Andrea is a tastemaker featured in the book HOTEL STORIES published by ASSOULINE, and is the featured photographer of BVLGARI | Il Ristorante, published by Assouline and shot in Japan.

Andrea has traveled to over 85 countries, and is the recipient of the Lowell Thomas Gold Award for Travel Photography. She photographs campaigns and projects for such companies as Cathay Pacific Airlines and Four Seasons Hotels, and magazines from Travel + Leisure and Vanity Fair, to Architectural Digest and Departures. FOUR Magazine has profiled Andrea and her culinary work, and PDN’s Food Issue 2017 selected her as one of the year’s best cookbook photographers.

In addition to Tokyo and her native Manhattan, Andrea has lived in Paris, Florence, Bangkok, Seoul, Granada (Spain), and Hong Kong. She speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. In 2004 she was named one of Photo District News’s “30 Photographers to Watch”. She became a photographer by chance after working in fashion and film public relations for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miramax Films.
